About Us
Darien Sail & Power Squadron
The Darien Sail & Power Squadron(DSPS) is dedicated to civic service and education in matters having to do with safety on the water. Chartered in 1953, DSPS is committed to achieving and promoting high standards of navigation, seamanship, and safety by our personal conduct and performance on the water. For more history on DSPS including our Past Commanders and squadron award winners click here. For a video about our squadron, click here.

DSPS is part of District 2 of the United States Power Squadron. District 2 (D2) geographically includes Lake Champlain, Lake George, Sacandaga, the Hudson River areas of New York and the western ends of Connecticut and Massachusetts. D2 has 15 different Squadrons with approximately 900 members who share boating knowledge and camaraderie.

DSPS is located on the Connecticut coast of Long Island Sound between the City of Stamford and the City of Norwalk. There are five harbors in the town: Holly Pond, Noroton Bay, Darien Harbor, Ziegler's Cove and Tokeneke Cove. Our almost 200 members live and work in Darien, New Canaan and many surrounding towns. For a map of Darien, click here.

Education of boaters (Power and Sail) remains the most important mission of the squadron. Advanced, elective, and supplemental courses are offered each year. For courses not currently available in Darien, attendance at classes conducted by other squadrons is encouraged. For more information on the courses offered click here.
